Yoga

Exercise and fitness not only helps change a students’ physical body but it changes their mind, attitude and mood.

To quote Sri Sri Ravi Shankar “Yoga is not just doing some exercise, it is much more. It is to expand your awareness, sharpen your intellect and enhance your intuitive ability.”

Computer Learning

Exploring the digital space in our computer labs enhances the scientific and technological prowess that gives them the cutting edge to be pioneers tomorrow.

To quote David Warlick “We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, becauseit is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world”

Science Activity

In order to make learning meaningful we ensure that theories are tested through experiments and observation in order to have a practical approach to establishing facts.

To quote CV Raman “ Ask the right questions, and nature will open the doors to her secrets. The essence of Science is Independent thinking, hard work and NOT equipment"

Music

When young children are consistently engaged by music in an age-appropriateenvironment, they benefit at many levels be it social, emotional, physical or creative. They also develop a lifelong love of music. Music education is not a privilege but its essential to being human.

To quote Plato “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything”

Life Skills Programme

Education should prepare our students for the future, whether that involves going on to further study, joining the world of work or becoming an engaged member of society. Education is a process that enables students to take their place in society as effective learners, as effective professionals and as effective citizens. Some of the skills that a student learns are Confidence, Decision-making, Stress alleviation, Adjustmentin adversity, Positive behaviour and Critical Thinking.

To quote UNICEF “Education that helps young people develop life skills has transformative potential.”

Sports and Games

Sports and Games plays a pivotal role in developing not just physical fitness but important life lessons such as teamwork, sportsmanship, focus, self -discipline, companionship etc. Starting early helps build the character of these future citizens of the country.

To quote Chris Jordon “Team Sports teaches you how to get along with other people.A true mark of your character, will be in how you treat that person who is the weakest link, when you are the strongest link”.

Community Service

Students benefit when they have support in forming their identities and becoming the adults they want to be. Community Service enables students to enhance their personal and inter-personal skills by learning through experience.

To quote Mahatma Gandhiji “A true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members”

Field Trips

Multi sensorial learning is an integral part of a student’s life. They learn best when they can see, hear, and experience things first hand. Field trips help students learn beyond the book for the same reason.

To quote a renowned historian Thomas Berry “Teaching children about the natural world should be seen as one of the most important events in their lives”.

Theatre

Rehearsing and performing words, movements, and cues strengthens this skill like a muscle. Legends, myths, poems, stories, and plays used in drama teach students about social issues and conflicts from cultures – past and present – all over the world. It’s a brilliant way to teach them to be articulate, increase vocabulary and become confident speakers.

To quote Oscar Wilde “I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being”.
